Peace & Nonviolence

CESCI Madurai hosts the International Gandhi Institute for Nonviolence and Peace (IGINP) and together they promote peace and nonviolence for social change. The training programs emphasize practical skill-building and ethical grounding. Participants learn conflict resolution, consensus-building, nonviolent communication, and community organizing, while exploring and experiencing Gandhian principles of ahimsa (nonviolence). By blending theory with practice, CESCI/IGINP equip youth, activists, and community leaders to confront injustice without violence.
The intercultural and inclusive atmosphere of the training enable people from diverse backgrounds to share life experiences, and then to reflect collectively on strategies of action. In the process, participants build solidarity. This approach strengthens individual capacities and nurtures networks dedicated to creating a more peaceful, equitable, and sustainable world.
CESCI seeks to create spaces where people, groups, and movements can converge nonviolently to work for justice, peace, and sustainable development.
