CESCI Madurai has always been a center of solidarity and service, providing support to communities in times of crisis. It actively participates in disaster management and relief efforts, particularly during natural calamities affecting Tamil Nadu and surrounding regions.

In the wake of floods, cyclones, and the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, CESCI served as a coordination point for grassroots organizations. With its dedicated staff, volunteers, and partners, CESCI organized food and medical relief, and mobilized international support for rebuilding the communities.

Today CESCI has a sub-centre in coastal Tamilnadu (PR Puram) and this focuses on livelihood generation for local people, along with summer programs for children and youth. This is meant to build resilence among the local communities in coastal Tamilnadu.
