Support Programs

For Ekta Parishad

CESCI Madurai has been crucial in supporting Ekta Parishad’s journey as a nonviolent social movement. From the start, CESCI was envisioned as a space for activists to learn, reflect, and prepare for social transformation struggles. Understanding that nonviolence is both a philosophy and a discipline, CESCI designed training programs that combined practical skills with ethical grounding.
These programs united youth, community leaders, and grassroots workers from across India, equipping them with tools in nonviolent communication, leadership, conflict resolution, and community mobilization. CESCI has also hosted strategy workshops for Ekta Parishad’s national campaigns—such as padyatras (long marches)—helping participants build resilience and organizational strength.
Beyond technical training, CESCI has fostered reflection and inner growth, teaching activists to balance personal discipline with collective action. Its intercultural environment has connected participants with global solidarity networks, enhancing the credibility and reach of Ekta Parishad as a nonviolent movement.
Thus, CESCI has provided inputs for nonviolent leadership. Ekta Parishad used this opportunity to evolve into one of the largest Gandhian movements in contemporary India, advancing the legacy of justice and peace through nonviolent struggle.
